Product Owner, Salesforce Consumer Goods Cloud
About ASICS Digital
ASICS is a global athletic footwear and apparel company with more than 70 years of experience creating advanced performance products. ASICS Digital, its digital division, drives innovation across the company: from consumer apps and e-commerce platforms to the systems that connect ASICS with retailers, partners and consumers worldwide.
Salesforce plays a central role in how ASICS works with its retail accounts. Connected to the core business systems, it gives commercial and field teams one view of their accounts, stores and activities across brands, regions and channels.
About the role
ASICS Digital is expanding its use of Salesforce Consumer Goods Cloud: the platform our commercial and field sales teams use every day to manage retail accounts, plan store visits and drive in-store execution. We are looking for an experienced Product Owner for our Salesforce CRM team who takes ownership of what we build and why.
The platform is set to grow internationally. A rollout to Japan is on the roadmap, with Latin America as a potential next step. As Product Owner you play a key role in shaping a solution that works across markets, while respecting local ways of working.
This role is based in Sydney. You will be part of a globally distributed team, working closely with colleagues in Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region, with additional stakeholders in Europe. Communication is a core part of this role and weighs as heavily as product and domain expertise. Professional-level English, both written and spoken, is a hard requirement: you will run sessions with international stakeholders, document decisions, write clear updates and align across time zones on a daily basis.
What you will do
As Product Owner you are the connecting link between product direction and day to day delivery. You bring focus, context and clear choices to what the team builds. Together with product and business leadership you shape the direction of our Consumer Goods Cloud landscape and make sure it supports the commercial organisation in practice.
- Turn roadmap items into concrete work by translating epics into clear user stories with acceptance criteria, process flows and a well defined scope
- Prioritise and maintain the backlog, balancing business value, dependencies, quality and technical feasibility
- Lead refinement, sprint planning and reviews so the team can deliver with rhythm and focus
- Gather and validate requirements with sales, account management and field teams, translating retail execution processes such as visit planning, store audits and account management into Consumer Goods Cloud functionality
- Work with Salesforce developers, admins and the solution architect on trade-offs around configuration versus customisation, data quality and technical debt
- Collaborate closely with the solution architect, who owns the high level integration design with SAP, to make sure business requirements and data needs are clearly defined
- Help prepare the platform for rollout to new markets such as Japan, and potentially Latin America, balancing a global template with local requirements
- Explore how customer and account data can be used more effectively, including opportunities with Salesforce Data Cloud
- Stay on top of Salesforce release cycles and new platform capabilities, and assess what adds value for the business
- Keep progress and expectations transparent towards stakeholders and flag risks and blockers early
- Support user adoption through clear release notes, demos, training input and close contact with key users
What you bring
You are a Product Owner who gets energy from building, collaborating and making choices. You work in a structured way, communicate clearly and take responsibility for what gets built, without losing sight of the perspective of the user or the team.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Product Owner in a software, SaaS or enterprise platform environment
- Hands-on experience owning a Salesforce product or backlog; experience with Consumer Goods Cloud is highly preferred
- Experience with Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud is valuable
- Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud is a strong plus
- Solid understanding of commercial processes in a consumer goods or retail context: account management, field sales and retail execution
- Experience working alongside a solution architect on integrations with ERP systems such as SAP
- Experience with multi-country rollouts or global templates is a plus
- Experience with agile ways of working in multidisciplinary teams, preferably in an international context
- Analytical thinking combined with creativity, and the ability to bring others along in choices and direction
- Comfortable with complex business processes and able to translate them into workable solutions
- Able to engage with developers and architects on technical choices and trade-offs
- Professional-level English, written and spoken, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Salesforce certifications (for example Administrator, Business Analyst or Consumer Goods Cloud Accredited Professional) are a strong plus
- Affinity with sporting goods, footwear or apparel is a plus
What we offer
- A full-time, long-term role at the heart of a global brand's digital transformation
- Direct impact on how commercial and field teams work with retailers every day
- The opportunity to help take the platform from Australia to new markets such as Japan and Latin America
- A modern technology landscape built around Salesforce
- An international, collaborative environment with colleagues across Asia-Pacific and Europe
- Room to grow, both professionally and personally
- An informal, open culture with engaged colleagues and short lines to decision makers
